Jay Rayner Tour

THIS EVENT HAS NOW TAKEN PLACE

Join Masterchef judge, award-winning restaurant critic, and chair of BBC Radio 4’s Kitchen Cabinet Jay Rayner for two deliciously entertaining shows:

The Ten (Food) Commandments

Sun 6 May: Pitlochry Festival Theatre

Tues 8 May: The Tivoli Theatre, Aberdeen

Weds 9 May: Adam Smith Theatre, Kirkcaldy

Thurs 10 May: Macrobert Arts Centre, Stirling

Fri 11 May: Mitchell Theatre, Glasgow

The original Ten Commandments have very little to offer when it comes to the complex business of how and what we eat. Luckily, ultimate foodie Jay - our very own culinary Moses - has stepped up to the plate to offer his new rules including ‘always worship leftovers,’ and ‘do not cut off the fat’, - just two he’ll share with us on the way to the edible promised land. Join Jay as he sets out to provide hilarious guidance on the very best way to eat now.

My Dining Hell

Sat 12 May: Assembly Rooms, Edinburgh

Jay Rayner, the Observer’s restaurant critic for over 15 years, has written reviews of well over 700 establishments, and if there is one thing he’s learnt it is that people like reviews of bad restaurants. No, scratch that. They adore them, feast upon them like starving vultures who have spotted fly-blown carrion out in the bush. In My Dining Hell, Jay examines our love affair with lousy reviews, rants about his most hated restaurants fads, lists some of some of the most excruciating nights out he’s ever had and – for balance – reads from some of the worst reviews his own work has ever received.

“Fast-paced and deliciously fun.”

“In this food-obsessed world, the show will enrapture all foodies, but also anyone delighting in Rayner’s quick-witted and eloquent delivery.”
