John Owen-Jones: The Spotlight Tour
Saturday 13 October, 2018: Queen's Hall, Edinburgh
Award-winning West End and Broadway star John Owen-Jones tours the UK this autumn to launch his latest album Spotlight. Fans can expect to hear John’s unique take on tracks from musicals and much more…
At just 26, John became the youngest actor ever to play the role of ‘Jean Valjean’ in Les Misérables and was the first British actor ever to play the role in both the West End and on Broadway. He has also played ‘The Phantom’ in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s The Phantom of the Opera nearly 2000 times - more than any other actor in the show’s West End history. Voted as one of the Greatest Ever Welsh Singers in a BBC Radio poll, John has performed many times with other distinguished musical voices including Michael Ball, Alfie Boe, Bryn Terfel and Katherine Jenkins.
Audiences will be treated to songs including Bring Him Home (Les Miserables), Music of the Night (The Phantom of the Opera), Some Enchanted Evening (South Pacific) and Bond movie favourite, Thunderball.
Spotlight will be John’s fifth album release after Bring Him Home: A Collection of Musical Favourites, Rise, Unmasked and John Owen-Jones.
